This is where I'll put my silly thoughts about anime and manga I'm reading! Brace yourself- this will be LONG I recently watched Kaze to ki no Uta and Natsu e no Tobira. They're both based on mangas written by Keiko Takemiya (I really need to read them!!) You can tell that both of these mangas were squeezed into 40 minutes and it works as well as one would expect. I still don't understand ANYTHING that is going on with Gilbert's dad in Kaze to ki no Uta. Did. Did he raise him as a sadomasochist?? Why???? This seems like the sort of OVA that works better if you've already read the manga. This one is not for the faint of heart however- some scenes in this genuinely disturbed me while watching. Beautifully disgusting. Natsu e no Tobira is a little better on this front, I understand it better than Kaze to ki no Uta. Though some characters are still not fleshed out and I really only care about Marion. I could not care less about Jack or Lind. One thing that helps with the characters that I could not care less about is the animation. This OVA is GORGEOUS. There's long avant garde scenes that don't exactly advance the plot but just show what the characters are feeling and it looks amazing. There's a whole scene where there's this watercolor looking horse runing in between a very important scene and it just?? Looks so cool?????

Currently Watching: Sailor Moon, Rose of Versailles, Ouran High School Host Club. Want to Watch: Candy Candy, Lucky Star and whatever shoujo OVAs I can get my grubby hands on :p

Same as the other one- just with manga!! I recenty started reading From Eroica with Love (that's where the photo below is from!) and oh my god It's so silly. I love these silly little goobers so much. It's a James Bond parody set in 1960s England starring a gay aristocratic art theif named Dorian. If that doesn't make you want to read this, I don't know what will. I've only read the first volume so far so there's three characters that are practically never seen again. Sugar, Lepoard and Ceaser. I really wish we saw more of these guys! They're so much fun!! Though I do understand why they had to leave because if they didn't Dorian would've practically become the villan :[. This first volume is deffinatly a bit iffy- it was written in the 70s after all. Dorian practically rapes Ceaser and it's ehhhhh, Not Fun. Hopefully the manga gets a little better about this, though I have heard that Klaus (A NATO major wwho becomes one of the main characters I think) calls Dorian slurs?? I don't know, I haven't gotten that far yet.
